BECU Continues to Grow Its Puget Sound Presence with Neighborhood Financial Centers in Wallingford and Everett

BECU, Washington's largest community credit union, today announced it will open new financial centers in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle and on Seattle Hill Road in Everett, Wash. BECU is targeting an opening date of later this year for both locations, which will join more than 45 financial centers statewide.

SEATTLE (March 15, 2017) — The new neighborhood financial center in Everett will be located near the corner of 132nd Street Southeast and Seattle Hill Road, and extend BECU's financial services in Snohomish County.  At 3,500 square-feet, this will be the third BECU location in Everett and serve more than 165,000 members, including those who live within the cities of Mill Creek, Everett and Snohomish.

The Wallingford neighborhood financial center will be more than 2,100 square feet and located on the corner of North 43rd Street and Stone Way. With this location and a new downtown Seattle financial center expected to open in December, BECU expects to have eight locations serving more than 155,000 members who live in Seattle.

“Our goal is to provide our members access to their money in the ways that are most convenient for them,” said Doug Marshall, BECU's senior vice president of retail. “BECU offers an innovative combination of financial centers, ATMs, mobile and online banking so members can access their money when, where and how they choose to.”

Members can use all BECU locations to establish accounts, apply for loans and perform financial transactions. Member consultants are also available to assist with these transactions and more complex services, such as mortgages, personal loans, auto loans and business services.

Building Stronger Communities

Last year, BECU shared more than $3 million with its local communities through philanthropic giving and community programs.  The credit union also educated more than 12,000 community members through 330 free financial education seminars, webinars and one-on-one financial coaching. Additionally, BECU returned $174 million to its more than 1 million members in the form of better rates and lower fees compared to bank averages.
