BECU to Open New Neighborhood Financial Center in Newcastle in 2018

Credit union expands financial services for eastside BECU members in Puget Sound

SEATTLE (August 16, 2017) — BECU, Washington's leading community credit union, today announced it will open a new Neighborhood Financial Center next year in Newcastle, Wash. at Newcastle Commons. At the new location, BECU members can open accounts, apply for loans and take care of financial transactions.

Located at Coal Creek Parkway and Newcastle Connector Drive, the 2,800 square-foot financial center will feature BECU's innovative “tellerless” layout, which empowers members to access their accounts in the ways most convenient to them, including ATM, online banking and mobile banking. Member consultants will be available to provide one-on-one support to open accounts and for more complex financial services such as mortgages, personal loans, auto loans, business services, investments and retirement planning.

By year-end, BECU plans to open new Neighborhood Financial Centers in Washington in West Seattle, south Everett, Wallingford, Greenwood and north Spokane. A new location in downtown Seattle will open early next year.

As a not-for-profit credit union, BECU returned $174 million to its members last year in the form of better rates and lower fees compared to bank averages. Additionally, the credit union shared more than $5 million in 2016 with its local communities through philanthropic giving and community programs.

Committed to the “People Helping People” credit union philosophy, BECU employees work together to serve their members and improve the financial well-being of their communities. The credit union is growing faster than ever before and career opportunities are available now.
