BECU to Open New Locations in Kirkland and Stanwood, Washington in 2025

New Neighborhood Financial Centers will offer financial services for members in the Puget Sound

SEATTLE (Jan. 15, 2025) – BECU, Washington’s largest credit union, will open new locations in Kirkland and Stanwood, expanding financial services for members in the Puget Sound. The Neighborhood Financial Centers (NFCs) will open in the second half of 2025 and offer members financial advice and guidance, as well as one-on-one support for opening accounts and transactions. These new NFCs will join other previously announced locations in Tacoma opening in February, Seattle’s White Center neighborhood opening in March and Spokane opening in April 2025.

“With these additional new locations, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for BECU as we work to better serve our members and grow our community impact,” said Jason Rudman, BECU’s chief member and digital experience officer. “Expanding our footprint will allow us to better support the causes closest to these communities to drive even greater local impact and provide the tools and services our members need to feel empowered in reaching their financial goals.”

Purpose-Driven Focus
BECU is a member-owned financial cooperative dedicated to improving the financial well-being of its members and their communities. In addition to providing members with financial services, the credit union supports local nonprofits in the communities it serves. In 2023, the credit union donated more than $8.4 million to nonprofits across the state that are increasing financial access, improving education and helping individuals increase their earning power. As BECU gets closer to opening its new Kirkland and Stanwood locations, the credit union will deepen partnerships with nonprofits in the local communities.

Kirkland-Central NFC
The new Kirkland-Central NFC will be located at the corner of Central Way and Main Street, and measure just over 3,400 square feet. This will include space for Video Banking, where members can meet with consultants on-demand or by scheduling an appointment for assistance with new accounts, loans, mortgage inquiries and account inquiries. With over 28,000 members in Kirkland, this location aims to better serve BECU’s growing membership in the area. The Kirkland-Central location will join the existing Kirkland location and nearby Redmond and Eastside locations. In Kirkland, the credit union currently partners with Hopelink, Kirkland Downtown Association, Kirkland Performance Center and Washington Women in Need.

Stanwood NFC
The new Stanwood NFC marks BECU’s first branch in the community, expanding upon its existing ATM services and providing better access and services like Video Banking to the credit union’s growing membership in the area. The Stanwood location will be located off 268th Street Northwest and 92nd Avenue Northwest and measure nearly 3,000 square feet. The Stanwood location will join existing locations in Marysville and Burlington in serving the local community. Today, BECU partners with nearby nonprofits including Cascadia Clubhouse, Housing Hope and Stanwood Food Bank Services.
