BECU Welcomes Werner Loots as Chief Consumer and Business Solutions Officer

Seasoned financial leader joins BECU’s executive team

SEATTLE (August 26, 2025) — BECU, the country’s fifth-largest credit union, today announced it has welcomed Werner Loots as executive vice president and chief consumer and business solutions officer. In his role, Loots will lead the teams accountable for creating and managing products and services across all BECU lines of business, including lending, deposits, investment and trust services and business banking.

Loots joins BECU with over 25 years of experience in financial institutions, consulting and business strategy, including senior roles at Commonwealth Bank of Australia,  Australia’s largest financial institution, an AI start-up, Northwestern Mutual, McKinsey & Company and PayPal. Most recently, he served as the executive vice president of consumer lending at U.S. Bank, where he oversaw products across mortgage, home equity and personal lending.

Loots holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa.
