BECU to open new Neighborhood Financial Center in Frederickson

New location will expand access to in-person and digital financial services in Pierce County

SEATTLE (September 29, 2026) — BECU, Washington’s largest credit union, will open a new Neighborhood Financial Center (NFC) in the Frederickson area near Puyallup. Expected to open in spring 2027, the new location will expand access to in-person financial support for members in Pierce County and complement BECU’s existing locations across Pierce County.

“Frederickson is a growing, tight-knit community made up of a mix of families, small businesses and larger employers,” said BECU Chief Member and Digital Experience Officer Jason Rudman. “This new location will make it easier for our members to connect with trusted financial guidance close to where they live and work. It will also create new opportunities for BECU to partner with organizations that support the community’s long-term financial well-being.”

The 3,500-square-foot NFC will be located at 5602 176th St. E., Suite G103 Puyallup, WA 98375, in a retail complex shared with Safeway. The location will feature BECU’s advice-focused tellerless service model, combining in-person support with digital services, including Video Banking. BECU member consultants will be available to help members open accounts, apply for mortgages, personal loans and auto loans, access business services, and receive personalized financial guidance. Two ATMs are planned, including a 24-hour walk-up ATM and an interior ATM available during business hours.

BECU currently serves approximately 19,500 members in the new location’s vicinity. The new NFC is intended to improve convenience for members in the growing Frederickson community and help relieve demand at BECU’s other Puyallup locations on South Hill and 176^th.

As the opening approaches, BECU will continue exploring opportunities to deepen local partnerships in the Frederickson and Puyallup communities.

Since 2023, BECU has opened 13 new locations, with more on the way in the coming year, continuing to invest deeply in local communities and create local jobs.
